The idea of providing a general computer service including a home computing tuition service was brought into being in 2005 by Deborah Wintle, The Computer GP. Deborah is a qualified trainer with over 20 years experience of computer systems and software applications training for individuals and small groups. The Computer GP is based near Bridgend, South Wales, UK. and covers a 20 mile radius.

The Computer GP does much work for Bettws Boys & Girls Club in both consultancy and system repairs and is currently developing their website. In addition, The Computer GP has created databases for use by local businesses.
